Last Days of Summer

Bear Lake is almost always cold. But that doesn't seem to stop us. We had a great weekend over Labor Day with my Mom and Dad and Erica, Dave and boys.
Friday was lovely and we braved the chill on Monday for the beach anyway. Blue lipped children and sweatshirts, but still fun.
My 64 year old dad was all skills knee boarding and wake boarding! I skied but no pictures to prove it. I did wear a wet suit this time, it makes me feel kind of silly. But I swallowed my pride and zipped it up. I wanted to ski without the Bear Lake hypothermia effect. The water (for once) was perfect.

Lake Powell

I'm finally blogging about Lake Powell. It was a month ago.
It was fantastic, and beautiful and hot.
Just Naomi and I went down, Zach and James stayed home. Zach was one week from the bar exam and I couldn't manage two tiny ones by myself down there. Linda (and Jeff and Heidi:) took care of my baby while Zach studied as hard as he could. Me and Naomi? We played!
Holly and Michael went with their kids and my mom and dad of course and Natalie too. Paul stayed home and worked hard, poor kid.
We spend a week out on the lake, I skied- slalom of course, for the first time this summer. I learned how to wake skate. Much more fun than wake boarding! No boots!
Naomi knee boarded again, she doesn't remember doing it last year. She was great, although I don't think she really loved it. My niece Alyssa (9) wake boarded this year!
We cliff jumped, got sunburned, but used lots of sunscreen too! We drank our weight in water, juice, gatorade and soda, and ate really well. Had sticky campfire marshmallows while my Dad told the story of Old Ephraim. I got blisters digging holes for the anchors, rode Holly and Michael's wave runners, knee boarded, and stood up on the board (that takes skills, only those of you who have done that know what I'm talking about).
It was a fun, relaxing, exhausting and beautiful vacation.

Summer Swimming

Providence City Celebration

We really have been living it up since we flew in here! Providence city had an anniversary celebration the Saturday after we got here.
Naomi spent the day running in and out of all the blow up slide/jumping things to rides, the rock wall, collecting goodies and chasing her cousins.
Whew.

Naomi made it about 10 feet up on the rock wall. I was so proud of her, she was super brave.

Exhausted.

blogging slump

I've been vacationing:) and taking a blogging break I guess. I'm back in Utah for a few more days and I just haven't had the initiative to blog much!
Hawaii was fantastic, I will post a few pictures later, when I am home again. My parents computer does not have a photo upload program I like and I decided I'll just spare them the extra downloads and extra pictures on their computer. Naomi loved the beach so very much, she's true to her sign, Aquarius!
On another note, we've been watching the back-to-back presidential debates tonight. They have been interesting and a little depressing. I was disappointed with the republican debate overall, it was a whole lot of mud-slinging, not as much issues addressing as there should have been.
So that's all for now, and that I'm due in just over 2 months!!!! AHHHH, this pregnancy is flying by. I'm not so ready this time around, I mean I've wised up to the fact that a baby is a lot of work once it's out:) I spent most of my pregnancy with Naomi wishing it would just hurry up already and with this little boy I'm excited for the addition but savoring my days as a mom of just one, who is no longer a baby.
So, as promised, a few pictures from Hawaii and maybe a few from Christmas later.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

So I'm still here, just been busy with all things "family." We've been in Utah since Tuesday and it SNOWED! Tons. We got in my parents hot tub while it snowed big fat, fluffy snowflakes. Naomi thought that was the coolest. She kept on eating the accumulating snow off the side of the hot tub! The next day I played in the snow with Naomi and my nephew Matthew until we were all too cold to play anymore. Naomi's been hanging out with all her little boy cousins and it's a little bit rougher than she's used to but she's hanging in there:) Yesterday she got to hold baby Henry, Erica and Dave's little one. She didn't want to let go of him, it was soooo sweet. She kept telling him sweetly "no crying" when he fussed and then patted his head and tummy and stroked his cheeks. I just hope she's that excited about our new baby when he gets here:)
I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out the easiest way to load them onto my parents computer.
And also, tomorrow we are leaving for Hawaii! I'll be thinking about all of you here in the cold while I hang out on the beach.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!

Utah

Well, we're here. Again. It seems like we never left. Funny how that works. We've had a super busy weekend with family and I'm just feeling a little drained. It's wonderful to see my family, and Zach's but so much in so few days makes me feel just plain tired. But that could also be attributed to the fact that I've been staying up a little late...
Anyway. I'm about to drive to Salt Lake for the afternoon with my mom and Natalie, oh, and of course Naomi:) Zach is at the courthouse already plugging away at his intern work. UNpaid internship. sigh. No, it's fine:) He likes the work and it's a good experience for his legal career so to speak.
Ok, I'm off for another day of elevated stress- I just need a few very uneventful days to get me juiced up again. We'll start tomorrow, along with my new summer workout program... hah!
Oh, and I will post some fantastic shots from our Cabo trip. I got to hold a baby lion! more on that later.

Moving & Mexico

Well, we did it. We are in Utah. First we missed our flight (long story), and after being re-routed to Atlanta, yes we went East then West, we made it to Salt Lake by about 10 p.m. on Monday. My awesome parents picked us up and drove us home to their place. Poor Naomi had start and stop sleep until about midnight when we finally got her in bed for good.
She's recovered by now.... but speaking of, she's currently asleep at my in-laws. We are leaving early tomorrow morning for Cabo San Lucas. Naomi is staying this weekend with Jeff and Linda and then the first half of next week at my parents. Honestly, I'm going to miss her so much! I'm very excited for this trip, just the two of us but I'm leaving my baby! I told Linda not to be surprised if I called....
So. That brings us to now, I'm all packed and ready to hit the sack and then jet on out of here!
I'm now in possession of a very nice camera of my father-in-laws. I hope to be taking some great shots in Mexico.
