Baby Shower!

Natalie, my gorgeous little sister is expecting her first baby. She and Paul are the cutest, they are so excited. Really, Natalie is just ready to be done being pregnant. I remember feeling like that. I wanted nothing more in my life than to just lie down on my stomach and go to sleep. You take stuff like that for granted when you're not pregnant.
So we Low girls threw her a baby shower! Holly graciously hosted. Her house always looks so great. I love it. Natalie was teasing her that it looked like pottery barn. I wish my house did!
It was fun getting together with my sisters and Mom, but we missed Aimee and Brooke. And it was nice to finally meet Paul's sister and sister-in-law's. We really had a good time, lot's of laughs. And some delicious food. What's a party without good eats?
We played a game where we all measured out a piece of string the length we thought was how big around Natalie was. Ginger, who initially said "Oh I cut mine too short!" was almost exactly right on. The rest of us..... way, way overestimated. Sorry Nat!
We also played the game where you guess the baby food. Kinda disgusto. But funny. I actually missed one, I mixed up peas and beans. It's been a while I guess. At least we didn't have to sample them, just smell.
Natalie is now a little better prepared for this little guy, and hopefully he won't keep her waiting too long. Early babies are always welcomed!

Probably this is overkill with the photos, but it's fun, right?

I love these girls.

My cupcakes, I am obsessed, I know. I added blue sprinkles too.

This was such a cute present! Our cousin Debbie made this little matchbox car holder. It's cloth and folds into thirds and velcros shut for taking along with you, like to church, in the car, etc. Win. The cars "park" in the tan corduroy slots. I want to make one, has anyone done this before?

My mom holding baby Sophia, This is Holly's baby, and she was the only babe allowed, good thing she's so stinking cute.

What did you say?

Naomi has been saying the funniest things, she's just growing up so fast and learning SO much all the time! It's fun but also funny.

Lately her cute phrases have included: "for minute" she will say something like, "baby sit in stroller....for minute." It's really cute.

And she also likes to volunteer when she likes something, out of the blue. We'll be walking outside and she'll see a squirrel and she'll get excited and then she'll say "I like it!" She lets us know what she does NOT like too:) She'll say "no like it" with a sad little voice.

But my total favorite is when she'll say something like "I love Daddy!" and I'll say "you do?" and she'll respond with "Yes I do!" She says it with a little sing-song voice like "yes-ah-doooo!" It cracks me up. Oh, and one more thing, everything is pretty princesses lately.... even our cat is Princess Kitty. hmmm.

So other than her funny stuff, I'm 37+ weeks now and counting down! I feel so stuffed:)

33 weeks

I am realizing that I have the "pregnant face" thing going on. Not happy. But what do you do.
Anyway, here is my 33 weeks preggo picture!

And also a couple of pictures from the park today, it was cold but we REALLY needed to get outside. Needless to even say, she loved every second of it.

blogging slump

I've been vacationing:) and taking a blogging break I guess. I'm back in Utah for a few more days and I just haven't had the initiative to blog much!
Hawaii was fantastic, I will post a few pictures later, when I am home again. My parents computer does not have a photo upload program I like and I decided I'll just spare them the extra downloads and extra pictures on their computer. Naomi loved the beach so very much, she's true to her sign, Aquarius!
On another note, we've been watching the back-to-back presidential debates tonight. They have been interesting and a little depressing. I was disappointed with the republican debate overall, it was a whole lot of mud-slinging, not as much issues addressing as there should have been.
So that's all for now, and that I'm due in just over 2 months!!!! AHHHH, this pregnancy is flying by. I'm not so ready this time around, I mean I've wised up to the fact that a baby is a lot of work once it's out:) I spent most of my pregnancy with Naomi wishing it would just hurry up already and with this little boy I'm excited for the addition but savoring my days as a mom of just one, who is no longer a baby.
So, as promised, a few pictures from Hawaii and maybe a few from Christmas later.

Random Things

This has been a busy last week and this week will be even busier! It's mostly good busy stuff, things I am happy to be doing, it just seems to all fall on the same week. Could be because I'm leaving next week for Utah.

Naomi and I are flying out on Tuesday and Zach will be coming next Friday after his last final. Just his luck to have a final on the very last day possible.

I put Naomi's hair up in pigtails, it was too cute to not take a picture of. She likes having her hair done and it makes her look sooo much older! But I'm all for letting it go wild for now too, for as long as I can get away with not having to pull her hair up/back the better. That would be the ONE benifit of having a super-bald baby.

Last week was our ward Christmas party, it was fun, and good food of course. Naomi pushed her way up to see Santa Claus. I'm proud of her for getting in there with all the big kids! She was totally stone-faced for the picture. We stopped to see Santa at the mall today too. She was thrilled to sit next to him and tell him about things. I'm glad she's not afraid of him, it makes it all a little more fun.

Naomi played the piano a little too after the party, it's her new favorite thing. Hopefully one day soon we will own a piano!

In these pictures I'm 25 weeks pregnant, nearly 26. I have almost exactly 3 months left. This pregnancy seems to be flying by lately! I'm not sure I'm going to be ready for this baby so soon!

And one more fun thing. I bought Naomi some water color paints and we tried them out for the first time. She loved, loved, loved it. The water bowl was by far the best part. Her paper ended up soaking and all kinda grayish green. So did all the paints. She's a budding Picasso! We'll have to work on the get the paint onto the paper thing. And she only tasted the paint once. I guess that was enough to convince her I was right, it's yucky.

That's all for now, I'm off to do some laundry!

OH, one more thing I wanted to mention. Yahoo has groups as you all may know but the coolest ones by far are the FreeCycle groups. Check out yahoo.com or Google 'freecycle' to see if you can find your local group. It's like craigslist but all free. I'm in love.

Ok, Ok. Here's a "belly" shot.

This one's for Erica.
After this I swear I'm going to talk about something else other than pregnancy!

I'm 24 weeks and change in this picture. And I know my hair is just lovely:)

My goal is to take a new pregnant profile picture every other week until the end of this pregnancy. I only took a few with Naomi, right at the end. Now I'm thinking it would have been fun to compare as I go.

This pregnancy has been different for a few marked reasons:
I was sick much sooner and a little longer.
I started "showing" earlier.
I have heartburn!
I can stomach meat.
I sometimes forget what week I'm in of pregnancy.
People keep telling me "good luck" when they hear I'm having a boy.......
I am much calmer about being pregnant:)

24 weeks, not 22

I had a second ultrasound yesterday and my baby boy measured "big" enough that the doctor there decided that "the first thing we are going to do is change your dates." I can hardly believe that I am actually off but it could be and probably obviously is. So my NEW due date is March 17th, 2008!!! I'm not complaining at all. This is good news, except for the fact that I couldn't figure out the right date on my own!!!
"Baby Boy" is doing great, just big I guess! Since his new due date is St. Patrick's Day, I decided that until we can decide on a name I'm going to nickname him "Patrick."
Speaking of, the name poll is over tomorrow! I'm thinking about doing a "round 2." Zach thought of a new name that would be pretty cool. I'm going to take the top two and add this new name. Thanks for all your votes! I have to admit I'm surprised a little at the results so far:)

*Warning, possible TMI*

This appointment was actually with a perinatal specialist because at my first ultrasound the tech found a large complex cyst on my right ovary. My OB referred me to the Perinatal place for a follow-up and further examination. I have a second visit scheduled with them in a few weeks and also to see a urologist to examine the cyst too. Soooo I'm just waiting around to see what all the doctors seem to think, about whether or not it's something that needs surgery, to be removed or just monitoring for the rest of the pregnancy. And if anyone is curious, the cyst is about 10cm, yeah, that's pretty big for cysts. Also, if any of you have ever had cysts, let me know what your doctor did/or didn't do.

Well that's the only news I had! As un-fun as it is, it's been taking up time and thoughts!!!

I guess on another note, more fun, is that Naomi is really starting to talk a lot! She's even making little sentences! Some of my favorite lately include:

"Peas, mmmm, yummy! Eat it up!!!"
"More cheeto's peeze!"
"It's Nomi's, Mommy's, Daddy's tree, yeah." Talking about our Christmas tree:)
"Drink of water, drink of water!"

You have to imagine a not quite right pronunciation with most words here of course:)

Pregnancy....

Well, I am through my 1st trimester of this pregnancy, as Ashley pointed out:) I have been feeling a lot better but not fully "well" just yet. It's strange that I am actually getting used to feeling kinda yucky. It's an off and on thing, I can keep the nausea in check if I just remember to eat. ALL THE TIME. I had forgotten that funny detail about pregnancy; eat small meals often. It's hard to remember and sometime snacky things don't cut it. I need "healthy" type foods to feel really good. But I eat less at meals too, I just can't "stomach" as much as a regularly would have been able to.
So my days goes as such: Breakfast- bowl of cereal and juice or fruit. An HOUR later- a snack like yogurt, fruit, toast. An hour later- cookie? drink of something!!! An hour later- snack again. An hour later- Lunch. Anyway you get the idea.... no wonder I'm already looking so pregnant!
But yeah, over all I'm feeling pretty good. I mean I do my hair, shower, put make up on and go places. That's saying something to how I was for the past two months. I even clean a little and cook again! Zach is thankful;)
And back to the looking pregnant thing- I do look pregnant. Already. I'm more ok with it every day since I'm 15+ weeks now but 3-4 weeks ago I felt like it was waaaay too early to be showing. But then again this is my second pregnancy and I guess you just show earlier. And no, I won't be posting a belly picture here. Not yet anyway.
So lastly, all you mommas out there, remind me where to get some cute maternity clothes, but more especially CHEAP cute maternity clothes:) I emptied out my maternity bag the other day and was underwhelmed. Besides that, I'm not really maternity size yet, I'm that horrid in between. Ugh.
I have my first appt with my new doctor here in DC in a few weeks, on the 25th. I will be 17 weeks and I need to double check but I think they will be doing an ultrasound, probably finding out the gender!!!!!! I'll be sure to post what I'm having:)
